World of Warcraft Upgrades and Item Upgrading

Upgrades can boost the value of weapons, armors and rings. Upgrades can also boost bonuses like crit chance and PvE Damage.

For instance a weapon that has the upgrade template that is ending in % will gain an attack damage of 3% each time it upgrades (relative to its previous value).

Item upgrading costs crests and the item's current level. The cost increases as the item's level rises.

Components

upgrade items components can be added to trinkets, armor, and weapons in order to give them a boost in stats or add a bonus effect. They can be obtained by crafting, buying from vendors trading or looting. Some upgrades also have special cosmetic effects.

Upgrade components can only be used on equipment that has a slot. The item must be at least upgraded to a blue level before the component can be applied. In contrast to other mods components can only be used once; they can't be used multiple times or replaced with new upgrades. Infusions and Enrichments are kind of upgrade component used to upgrade non-amulet legendary or Ascended equipment, as well as some non-ascended items. Infusions and enrichments can be retrieved by salvaging gear that is ascended or completing an elite mission in the Prophecies, Factions and Nightfall campaigns.

A prefix or suffix may be added to an upgrade, changing the name of the item it is used on (for example, 'Canthan Armor Insignia,' becomes Canthan Armor Minor Vigor). Some upgrades boost an item's Mark Level or Rarity, allowing players make stronger versions of the equipment using fewer Upgrade Crystals than would be required to reach the same level of upgrade through normal methods.

A 'boost' upgrade can change the attack or defence attributes of the weapon or armor. After the player has completed the cutscene and defeated Crazed Mechanist, these upgrades can be made at the Portative Forging Station. These upgrades are available for purchase them in the cash shop or by obtaining them from enemies when upgrading other equipment.

The player can have the maximum of five boost upgrades at one time; each upgrade increases the probability that a better-quality version of the item will drop at the time of the next reset. This gives players an incentive to upgrade their gear even when they're not sure what can be improved upon the reset.

The process of upgrading an item could be costly and it's possible that the item will become obsolete or even break when the upgrade is unsuccessful. Upgrade Crystals and assist powders are also destroyed when the upgrade fails. Cash shop items can be used to minimize or eliminate the risk of failure. Some upgrades also give the player a bonus if they are reinserted.

Glyphs

Glyphs are upgrade components that can be placed in special sockets on the Paragon Board. Glyphs can boost the performance of nodes within a radius, and include any pre-existing attaches. Glyphs can be upgraded many ways, and we recommend getting them to level 15 as soon as you can.

In the endgame, you will often find that the Best item upgrade way to enhance your equipment is to use Glyphs. They are the only upgrade component that can be upgraded straight to level 15 and provide an enormous boost to your power and radius on the Paragon Board, enabling you to reach higher nodes much faster.

Glyphs, which is the only upgrade component that can be removed without restriction and then replaced with no restrictions, are the most common. The only exception is legendary equipment, which requires a Black Lion Salvage Kit to salvage and re-place.

Each Glyph has a specific range of values it can improve a statistic by, and the value is displayed when you choose the Glyph in your inventory. You can replace it with an Glyph that is of the same or higher rank to increase the value of the Glyph.

Glyphs can be found in the Black Lion Trading Post as part of the Gem Store bundle or purchase, with certain unlimited-use tools, and during Faction Crypt Raids. Each Faction Crypt can drop one of these Glyphs. There are some rare glyphs which you can find in any of the Faction Crypts.

Once you have gotten the desired Glyphs you'll need them to be placed on your gear. Each Glyph unlocks a special bonus that will boost the stats of a particular set of nodes within a radius around the Glyph. This will either be +40 for one of your primary stats, or +25 for two of your secondary stats depending on the Glyph.

Glyphs will boost all nodes that are connected to them, therefore it is Best item upgrade to put Glyphs in key locations on the Graph. This will increase the impact. For example, a Druid should try to place their Glyphs close to their primary damage nodes but you should also be sure to place them near the most critical damage nodes as well.

Leveling

The item upgrading system allows players to increase the effectiveness of certain items by placing upgraded components into them. This is commonly known as "upping". Every upgradeable item has an amount that determines its final upgraded stats. Upgraded items can be upgraded up to a maximum level of 385 ilvl. Each item level requires a different amount of components to reach and the costs for upgrading increase as the item is advanced in level.

Some upgrades require an ingredient to be activated. This ingredient is obtained from finishing Upgrade Recipes. These recipes are available in the upgrade tab of a crafting table, or bought from NPCs. Each completed Upgrade Recipe earns some Technology Points. These points can be used to upgrade the item, and once enough points have been earned, the upgrade can be claimed and the additional bonuses will be added to the item.

When a player upgrades an item to a higher level, the original item is replaced by a new item of the same kind. This means that the same armor piece will become an weapon or shield once upgraded. The new item will have a unique bonus. This could be a drawback in that it could cause the item to become more expensive if you do not need it.

The upgrades to items can be rerolled, provided that the player has enough reroll tokens to be able to do so. The item will be replaced with the same item, but it is based on a level 1 base and totally different bonuses. This can be useful for certain items, however it's not something that should be repeated often, as it can waste lots of resources.

Some upgrades can be rerolled many times which increases their value and giving players the ability to alter their equipment. A good example of this is Dolphin's Gift, which gives an advantage when a player repeatedly enters and leaves the water (or is able to swim like dolphins). This item can be upgraded several times and increases the maximum roll each time by 10 increments. This item is highly valuable in PvP. A well-rolled version could be worth 50 times the value of its unupgraded counterpart.

Requirements

Item upgrading allows players to increase the level of their equippable equipment - weapons, armor, and trinkets over ilvl 385 by offering the appropriate items and currency to an NPC who upgrades items. The upgrade of armor set pieces will also boost the defense base of the item, and upgrading weapon items will increase the base damage as well as the required strength and dexterity to match the requirements of the upgraded equipment.

All items can be upgraded up to five times, except for hero equipment, which can be upgraded eight times. Each each time you upgrade an item, it is given the chance to fail. The rate of failure increases as you exceed the maximum amount of upgrades. Failures can result in the item reverting to its initial state which means that the player has to purchase more items than if they stopped upgrading after the maximum amount.

If an item fails to upgrade, the amount of accumulated experience in its growth bar is reset to zero. In addition, the item will lose any bonus it earned, including crit chance and attack damage, as well as any additional effects associated with the effect (for instance, an increase in heal over time or the speed of reloading). The player is able to use their weapon or armor even after the failure.

If an item is upgraded the upgrades are applied from lowest to highest. This means that if a weapon gains a crit chance increase, the increase will be applied prior to any damage to attack increases. The amount of resources required to upgrade an item are based on its rarity rating and upgrade slot count. The cost of upgrading non-premium equipment is equivalent to its value. Premium items could require different upgrades than normal equipment. For example they might require fewer sowels, but more minerals and orons. Players will still have to take every piece of gear they wish to upgrade to the NPC [Armor] Boboko located in Central Flarine. Each upgrade to equipment will require different amounts of ingredients for upgrading, in addition to the cost mentioned above.
